Grass Texture
In this tutorial, i'll show you how to make some realistic grass texture..
- Start a new document of any size you want. |
- Create Another layer, fill it with white, then apply the noise filter to the new layer. (Filter » Noise » Add Noise) . Amount: 400%. Distribution: Gaussian. Monochromatic: Checked. - Now apply tthe Gausian Blur (Filter » Blur » Gaussian Blur) to this noise layer. set it to about 0.7 for Radius. - Set the noise layer 's blending mode to "Multiply". I know this doesn't look much like dirt, but it will be good enough for our purpose. |
Now, Create a new layer, fill it with white, and apply the same Noise setting as above: (Filter » Noise » Add Noise) . Amount: 400%. Distribution: Gaussian. Monochromatic: Checked. - Now apply the same Gausian Blur Filter same as above. - Create Another Layer above this layer, and fill it with Green. (I used #1D561D) - Set this green layer's blending mode to "Multiply" |
Now with the top layer (Green, Layer 4 in the above screenshot) selected as a active layer, go to Layer » Merge Down to merge the noise and the green layer together. - Go to Filter » Stylize » Wind: Use setting: Method: Stagger. Direction: From the left |
- Now go to: Image » Rotate Canvas » 90CW - Go to Filter » Stylize » Wind. Use setting: Method: Stagger, Direction From the Left) - Then rotate the image back: Image » Rotate Canvas » 90CCW |
There you have it, Nice, Healthy Grass Texture. Now to add make this look more interesting, select the eraser too, and choose the brush And erase out by spotting out areas in the grass layer, which reveals the dirt layer at the bottom. |
Maybe use the eraser tool to write a word? |
